Multiple blasts hit Afghan capital, casualties reported

KABUL, Afghanistan (AA) – At least two people were killed and more than a dozen of others wounded in multiple explosions in the Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday, local media reported.

Baseer Mujahed, a spokesman for the Afghan National Police in Kabul, told Anadolu Agency IED blasts rocked the Karta-e-Sakhi neighborhood in west Kabul during the Nevruz celebrations marking the beginning of spring.

He said police teams have been dispatched to the spot.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Last year, a suicide bombing killed 29 people in the same vicinity also during the Nevruz celebrations.
