RABAT (AA) – Moroccan authorities on Tuesday dismantled a terrorist cell linked to the Daesh terrorist organization, according to local media.

The Daesh cell was busted in the city of Sale, close to the capital Rabat, as it was preparing to carry out a terrorist attack, Channel Two reported.

The channel said the cell was made up of six members, aged between 22 and 28 years.

According to the report, the cell members “were meeting on a daily basis to plan on carrying out terrorist attacks”.

Moroccan authorities have yet to confirm the report.

According to official figures released late last year, the Moroccan authorities have dismantled more than 180 terrorist cells since 2002.
