Magnitude 6.3 quake hits southern Philippines

ANKARA (AA) – A magnitude 6.3 earthquake jolted the southern Philippines on Sunday, the country’s seismology agency said.

The quake was recorded at 12:22 p.m. local time (0422GMT) at a depth of 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) and its epicenter was the town of Magsaysay in the Davao del Sur province, a Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The quake was also felt in the cities of Bansalan, Kidapawan, and Digos.
