Macky Sall takes Senegalese presidential oath of office

By Alaattin Dogru</p> <p>DAKAR, Senegal (AA) – Senegalese President Macky Sall took the oath of office for a second term Tuesday in Diamniado, a city near Dakar, the West African nation's capital. </p> <p>Sall promised he would serve the Senegalese people and urged the country to begin constructive and comprehensive dialogue. He also encouraged them to maintain the country’s tradition of being a peaceful, stable, and inclusive country.</p> <p>Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan was among the guests at the International Fair and Conference Center, the Turkish-built facility where the inauguration was held. </p> <p>Sall won the elections on Feb. 24 with 58 percent of the vote, besting four rivals.</p> <p>Distinguished guests at the inauguration included Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, Gambian President Adama Barrow, former French President Nicholas Sarkozy, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and a host of African leaders. </p> <p>* Writing by Vakkas Dogantekin
