Libya plane crash kills 3, including son of army general

BENGHAZI, Libya (AA) – Three people lost their lives late Friday after a medical plane crashed while landing at al-Abraq airbase in Libya’s northeastern city of al-Bayda, a military source told Anadolu Agency.

The source, who refused to divulge his name because of security reasons, said the victims included Mohamed al-Nazouri, the son of the Libyan army’s Chief of Staff Abdel-Razeq al-Nazouri, who was appointed by the Tobruk-based House of Representatives.

Four people were also injured in the incident and remain in critical condition, according to the source.

The source also said that engine failure may be behind the crash.
