Lebanese PM concludes visit to Saudi Arabia

RIYADH (AA) – Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri left Riyadh on Sunday after a five-day visit to Saudi Arabia, according to the official SPA news agency.

Hariri arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday for his first official visit since he suddenly resigned during a televised speech from Saudi Arabia in November.

He held talks with Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Mohammed during his stay in the oil-rich kingdom.

Hariri had revoked his resignation after returning to Lebanon amid accusations by Lebanese officials for Riyadh of forcing the prime minister to resign.

Saudi Arabia accuses Lebanese group Hezbollah, a member of Hariri’s government, of being a proxy force for Shia Iran, an arch foe of Sunni Saudi Arabia.
