ANKARA (AA) – Kuwaiti Emir Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah is due to arrive in Turkey on Monday to pay an official visit, according to the Turkish Presidency.

A Presidential Press Office statement Sunday said the emir will be visiting Turkey through March 22 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the visit, several cooperation agreements in various fields are expected to be struck between the two countries.

The emir will also be decorated by Erdogan with a state order.

“The visit, during which bilateral and regional issues will be discussed, will contribute to the further promotion of our cooperation with Kuwait — with which we already have excellent relations — both bilaterally and within the scope of the Gulf Cooperation Council,” said the statement.
