Japanese news agency delegation visits Anadolu Agency

ANKARA (AA) – A delegation from Japanese news agency Kyodo paid a courtesy visit to Anadolu Agency Friday.

Anadolu Agency’s Deputy Director-General Mustafa Ozkaya welcomed Kyodo’s Cairo correspondent Naoki Yoshida and and its Istanbul Correspondent Aki Yasuo Kankilic.

Yoshida provided details on how Kyodo Agency operates and said plans were being made to focus more on news from Turkey.

Anadolu Agency Deputy Director-General Mustafa Ozkaya explained the agency’s missions as well as its worldwide set-up to the delegation.

Anadolu Agency has 1,694 subscribers from 45 countries and publishes news in multiple languages.

It currently broadcasts in Turkish, English, Arabic, French, Kurdish, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian (BCS), Russian, Albanian, Persian and Macedonian.

Ozkaya said the agency would soon broadcast in Spanish from offices based in Colombia.

The current collaboration with Kyodo was also discussed in a meeting.

Foreign Languages Department Director Mehmet Ozturk, International News Editor-in-Chief Omer Faruk Tokat and International Operations Director Ural Yesil also attended the meeting.
