JERUSALEM (AA) – A young Palestinian man was shot and martyred on Tuesday by Israeli gunfire in occupied East Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
“Palestinian was shot and martyred after he was shot by Israeli gunfire in Musrara neighborhood in East Jerusalem,” the ministry said in a statement.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that the Israeli police opened fire with live bullets on the young man and killed him.
“The police then closed the entire area and prevented medical teams from delivering treatment for the shot Palestinian,” the eyewitnesses said.
Israeli media claims that the Palestinian was killed over an alleged knife attack.
