Israeli killed in rocket attack from Gaza

JERUSALEM (AA) – An Israeli woman was killed and eight other people injured in a Palestinian rocket attack from Gaza that targeted central Israel.

Israeli ambulance service Magen David Adom said a 50-year-old woman was killed when a rocket landed in an area in Rishon Lezion.

Israeli news channel KAN also reported eight Israelis sustained moderate and severe injuries in rocket attacks on Holon, Giv'atayim, and Rishon Lezion.

Sirens were heard late Tuesday across Israel from Ashdod in the south to Haifa in the north.

The Israeli army's home front command asked Israelis to go near bomb shelters in case of emergencies.

The Israeli civil aviation authority announced it was suspending flights at Ben Gurion Airport near the capital Tel Aviv amid continued rockets attacks from Gaza.
