JERUSALEM (AA) – Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid is set to inaugurate his country's embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday during his first visit to Abu Dhabi since the normalization agreement between the two countries.

Lapid arrived in the Gulf state earlier in the day for a two-day visit.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, Lapid will inaugurate the Israeli Embassy in Abu Dhabi and consulate in Dubai.

The Israeli minister will meet with his counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan during the visit to sign an economic cooperation agreement, the broadcaster said.

In September 2020, the UAE and Israel signed a US-sponsored deal to normalize their relations. Since then, the two countries have signed dozens of bilateral agreements in various fields, including investment, banking services, and tourism.
