GAZA, Palestine (AA) – Israeli jets on Saturday carried out a series of airstrikes against the positions of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas in the blockaded Gaza Strip, according to the Israeli army.

Warplanes launched missiles against two targets reportedly belonging to the Al-Qassam Brigades, one in the south and the other in the north of Gaza, the Israeli army said on Twitter.

The jets targeted a Hamas weapons factory and a rocket launch pad, it said, adding that the strikes were carried out in retaliation for incendiary balloons sent off from the enclave.

No information on casualties was provided by the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Israeli jets had hit another place belonging to the Al-Qassam Brigades earlier on Friday.
