RAMALLAH (AA) – An Israeli military court on Monday slapped a Palestinian youth with a 17-year jail term for allegedly stabbing a settler, according to a Palestinian NGO.

Tamer Khodeir, 29, was sentenced to 17 years in prison, the Palestinian Prisoner Club said in a statement.

Khodeir was arrested in October 2015 for involvement in the stabbing attack that took place in Ariel settlement in the occupied West Bank.

According to Palestinian figures, some 6,500 Palestinians continue to languish in Israeli detention facilities, including scores of women and hundreds of minors.
