Iraq seeks to unify Arabs on joint issues: Official

By Naza Mohamed </p> <p>BAGHDAD (AA) – Iraq’s Parliament speaker Mohamed al-Halbusi on Wednesday said that his country “has irreversibly overcome political sectarianism&quot;.</p> <p>Following a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri in Baghdad, al-Halbusi said Iraq is seeking to play a role in unifying the Arab position in the international arena toward joint causes particularly the Palestinian issue.</p> <p> &quot;We are keen to unify the Arab position, especially on the joint issues of the [Arab] nation on international forums, especially regarding the Palestinian cause,&quot; said al-Halbusi.
