Iranian army conducts massive wargames in Isfahan

ANKARA (AA) – The Iranian military on Friday conducted large-scale drills in the eastern Isfahan province, state television has reported.</p> <p>Thousands of military personnel are reportedly taking part in the “Eghtedar 97” exercises, which are being conducted in Isfahan’s city of Nasrabad.</p> <p>“Some 12,000 troops will practice new offensive tactics in line with recent structural changes to our ground forces,” Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency quoted Kiumars Heidari, commander of Iran’s Army Ground Forces, as saying Thursday.</p> <p>The drills, Heidari went on to assert, “will send a message to our enemies that the Iranian army is readier than ever to counter any aggression”.
