Iran holds 2 Qatari boats, detains 10

ISTANBUL (AA) – Iranian coast guards on Wednesday seized two Qatari fishing boats for illegally entering the country’s territorial waters, according to the official IRNA news agency.

Ten people were detained aboard the two boats, Colonel Ali Asghar Khorram, border commander of Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, said.

He said the two boats had illegally entered Iran’s territorial water for fishing, with 400 kg fish being carried by them.

Iran has 31,000 square kilometers of territorial water.
