Head of Russia’s TASS news agency visits Anadolu Agency

ISTANBUL (AA) – Director-General of Russia’s official TASS news agency, Sergey Mikhaylov and an accompanying delegation visited Anadolu Agency’s office in Istanbul on Monday.

Anadolu Agency Chairman and Director-General Senol Kazanci and Mikhaylov discussed bilateral relations and areas of cooperation at the meeting between the two major agencies.

Mikhaylov was also briefed on the AA News Academy, which was established in 2011 as part of the agency’s centennial goals for 2020. The academy holds frequent seminars and provides a number of training programs.

TASS First Deputy Director-General Mikhail Gusman and Anadolu Agency’s Deputy Director-General Mustafa Ozkaya were also present at the meeting initiated at Kazanci’s invitation.

Anadolu Agency has 1,450 subscriptions in 45 countries and publishes news in multiple languages.

It currently broadcasts in Turkish, English, Arabic, French, Kurdish, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian (BCS), Russian, Albanian, Persian and Macedonian.

Over 2,300 people from 79 nations work for Anadolu Agency in some 86 countries where it has offices.

Anadolu Agency posts an average of 2,200 news stories, 1,900 photos and 250 video news reports daily.

As part of its centennial vision, the agency aims to become one of the world’s most influential agencies by 2020.
