Foreign ministers discuss regional issues in Istanbul

ISTANBUL (AA) – Participants on Wednesday at the MIKTA Foreign Ministers' Meeting, an acronym for Mexico, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Turkey and Australia, exchanged their views on global and regional issues.

Turkey's Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Yildiz said the slogan “new innovative cooperation ” of the Istanbul meeting separated MIKTA from other international platforms.

Yildiz attended the meeting on behalf of Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu who was attending the extraordinary summit of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul.

This is the third time the meeting was held under Turkey's MIKTA Chairmanship.

Turkey will hand over the MIKTA Chairmanship to Indonesia for 2018 at the end of the conference.
