ANKARA (AA) – Reigning champion Galatasaray drew BTC Turk Yeni Malatyaspor in the fifth match day of the Turkish football league on Sunday.
At Yeni Malatya Stadium in Malatya, Brazilian midfielder Guilherme Marques’ 89th minute goal came as a shock.
Istanbul's yellow-red club took the lead in the 23rd minute when midfielder Jean Michael Seri found the net with a close ranger header.
But Yeni Malatyaspor equalized in the second half.
Yeni Malatyaspor responded with a goal in the 89th minute by Guilherme Marques, who scored a beautiful shot just inside the penalty area.
As of the week five, Galatasaray have eight points and are in the sixth spot in the league table.
Galatasaray will host Fenerbahce next Saturday, Sept. 28. The match will kick off at 2000 p.m. (1700 GMT).
