ANKARA (AA) – Peru will face a challenge in Group C of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2018 when they meet France, Denmark and Australia.

Peru finished the South American qualifying group stage at fifth place with 26 points in the playoffs. They managed to eliminate New Zealand with 0-0 and 2-0 scores to book their ticket to Russia.

The team will look to their star Paolo Guerrero, who have been declared free to play by Swiss Supreme Court's decision last month, after a doping ban had appeared to have rule out the 34-year-old striker.

33-year-old Jefferson Farfan will also be another option for Peru to score goals.

The South American side played in the quarterfinals in 1970, their best record so far.

Confirmed 23-men squad of Peru:
