EuroLeague: A. Efes beat Real Madrid to keep top spot

ISTANBUL (AA) – EuroLeague leaders Anadolu Efes beat second-placed Real Madrid 80-75 to stay on top of the standings in a highly-anticipated Turkish Airlines EuroLeague showdown Friday.

Anadolu Efes visited the Spanish capital of Madrid in a Round 21 game at WiZink Center in key EuroLeague game for the top position.

American guard Shane Larkin was unstoppable, leading all scorers with 32 to keep his team comfortable at the top.

Anadolu Efes is 18-3 with a six-game winning streak, while second-placed Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid is 15-6.

The Istanbul team ended its 15-year-ill fate in Madrid as its last victory against Real Madrid in the Spanish capital came in January 2005.

Real Madrid lost its last three games after winning 13 in a row in the EuroLeague.
