NUR SULTAN, Kazakhstan (AA) – Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Georgia, and Uzbekistan reported a spike in cases.
– Ukraine
The Health Ministry of Ukraine announced 492 more people caught the virus, raising the tally to 8,617 nationwide.
The death toll in the country has risen to 209, while 840 patients have recovered so far.
– Kazakhstan
The Health Ministry in Kazakhstan said that in the country, where 25 people died due to COVID-19, the number of cases rose by 96, reaching 2,660.
Also, 677 people have recovered, while 1,981 people are currently under treatment.
– Kyrgyzstan
With the detection of 17 more people infected in Kyrgyzstan, the total number of cases reached 682.
Eight people have died from the virus and 370 have recovered.
– Armenia
According to the country's Health Ministry, the number of coronavirus cases in Armenia rose by 69, hitting 1,746.
The ministry added that a total of 833 patients recovered, while the treatment of 885 cases continues.
Also, 28 people have lost their lives so far.
– Georgia
The number of coronavirus cases in Georgia climbed to 488 with 29 new cases, according to the government's special website on COVID-19 in the country.
A total of 139 patients out of all infected recovered in the country so far.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the country reached 6.
– Uzbekistan
In Uzbekistan, 29 patients contracted the virus, bringing the tally to 1,865, while 707 people recovered from the disease and eight lost their lives so far.
After originating in China last December, COVID-19 has spread to at least 185 countries and regions. Europe and the US are currently the worst-hit regions.
The pandemic has killed over 203,400 people, with total infections exceeding 2.91 million, while more than 827,000 have recovered so far, according to figures compiled by the U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.
