ANKARA (AA) – President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday criticized remarks by the main opposition party leader blaming celebrities for being on the wrong side.
Speaking at a congress in the Aegean province of Aydin, Erdogan said Kemal Kilicdaroglu does not support Turkish soldiers.
“According to Kilicdaroglu's mentality, our celebrities should take sides with terrorists, not our soldiers, ” he said, referring to the Republican People's Party (CHP) leader.
Earlier this week, the opposition leader criticized celebrities who accompanied Erdogan on his visit to a military outpost in southern Hatay province, on the border with Syria.
Erdogan added that Kilicdaroglu's life in politics will end in November 2019, referring to the presidential election.
