By Mahmoud al-Husseini

CAIRO (AA) – Egyptian Army Chief-of-Staff Mahmoud Hegazi left Cairo for London on Tuesday for scheduled talks with U.K. military officials, according to an Egyptian security source.

Hegazi is being accompanied on his days-long visit to Britain by a military delegation, the source told Anadolu Agency, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to media.

The Egyptian military, for its part, has yet to officially comment on the visit.

In 2015, Hegazi visited London for talks with British officials regarding military and security cooperation between Egypt and the U.K.
