Coronavirus situation update in Eurasia, Central Asia

BAKU (AA) – Health authorities in Eurasian and Central Asian countries reported on Sunday new coronavirus infections, related deaths and recoveries.

– Ukraine

Ukraine’s COVID-19 tally increased to 135,894, with 2,107 more infections recorded over the past 24 hours.

The death toll swelled by 35 to reach 2,846, while 578 more recoveries took the total to 62,227.

At least 70,821 patients remain under treatment.

– Uzbekistan

A total of 183 new cases raised Uzbekistan’s overall count to 43,476 as two more fatalities took the death toll to 345.

At least 106 more patients recovered over the past day, bringing the total to 40,880.

As many as 2,251 patients remain under treatment, and around 100,000 are under medical surveillance.

– Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, 76 new infections raised the total to 106,301.

Recoveries increased to 99,523 with 505 additions, while nine new fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,627.

Nearly 5,000 COVID-19 patients are under treatment.

– Armenia

Armenia’s caseload increased by 134 to reach 44,783.

Two more virus-related fatalities raised the death toll to 897, while recoveries stand at 40,089.

– Georgia

In Georgia, 29 more cases brought the total to 1,691.

The country’s death toll stands at 19, while recoveries increased by eight to reach 1,310.
