LONDON (AA) – British Airways is investigating a data breach after 380,000 customers data regarding payment cards were stolen while making bookings on the Internet, the airline said Thursday.

“British Airways is investigating, as a matter of urgency, the theft of customer data from its website, ba.com and the airline's mobile app,” the airline said.

“The stolen data did not include travel or passport details,” it added.

The U.K.'s flagship airline said the data breach occurred between Aug. 21 and Sept. 5, 2018 and urged customers to contact their banks or credit card providers.

The airline said it is “communicating with affected customers” and it has “notified the police and relevant authorities. ”

The company’s IT systems collapsed in May 2017 after a power surge and up to 75,000 passengers faced disruptions.
