ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,358.20 points on Thursday, up 0.14% or 1.86 points from the previous close.
At Wednesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 1.12% to 1,356.34 points, with a daily trading volume of 13 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.7200 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, from 8.6780 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.3400, versus 10.2890, while one British pound traded for 12.0400 Turkish liras, slightly up from 12.0300.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for $74.75 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
