ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.34 percent or 345.72 points to open at 102,839.75 points on Friday.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased by 0.51 percent to close the day at 102,494.03 points with a daily trading volume of 5.9 billion Turkish liras ($1.1 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate remained unchanged at 5.3260 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to Thursday.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 6.0430, versus 6.0590 at the last close.
One British pound traded for 6.9560 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 6.9740 at market close on Thursday.
The price of Brent oil was around $67.10 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Friday.
