ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.56 percent or 576.53 points to open at 104,338.99 points on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped by 0.61 percent to close the day at 103,762.46 points with a daily trading volume of 8.1 billion Turkish liras ($1.53 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 5.2440 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to Tuesday's closing rate of 5.2600.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also decreased to 5.9480, versus 5.9620 at the last close.
One British pound traded for 6.7900 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 6.7920 at market close on Tuesday.
The price of Brent oil stood at around $63.10 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Wednesday, versus $63.02 at Tuesday's close.
