Borsa Istanbul opening bell rings for gender equality

By Ugur Aslanhan</p> <p>ISTANBUL (AA) – The opening bell of Turkey's stock exchange rang for gender equality on Friday, marking International Women's Day.</p> <p>Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak said the ceremony at Borsa Istanbul will pave the way to greater awareness of gender inequality. </p> <p>Highlighting the importance of women playing an active role in every area of society, Albayrak said:</p> <p>&quot;Women's participation in all areas, from education to politics, from economy to health, helps us to achieve a more inclusive and efficient production structure while bringing us closer to our goal of equality.&quot;</p> <p>*Writing by Tuba Sahin from Ankara</p> <p> </p> <p>
