AFRIN/ANKARA (AA) – Booby traps set by the YPG/PKK terrorist organization continue claiming lives in northwestern Syria’s Afrin region.

According to Anadolu Agency correspondents in the region, three people from the same family were killed when bombs planted in their house exploded in Shamanli village of Sheran district, northeast of Afrin town center.

The civil defense units in Syria recovered three bodies following the explosion.

Another wounded civilian was transferred to a hospital.

On Monday, a woman was killed in a similar explosion in Afrin town center.

Turkish Armed Forces and Free Syrian Army fighters continue a sweep search in the area.

Turkey launched Operation Olive Branch on Jan. 20 to remove terrorist groups from Afrin, amid growing threats from the region.

On March 18, Turkish-backed troops liberated the town center of Afrin.

Afrin region has been a major hideout for the terrorist YPG/PKK group since 2012.
