BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) – Red Star MTS Belgrade on Tuesday defeated Turkey’s Galatasaray 87-57 in their week five match of the EuroCup in the Serbian capital.
Joe Ragland was the top scorer for Red Star with 21 points, while Tai Webster was the top scorer for Galatasaray with 16 points.
Red Star are leading the group A chart with 4 wins and 1 defeat, while Galatasaray are on fourth position with 2 wins and 3 defeats in the 7DAYS EuroCup.
Today’s match was considered as a high risk game as a Serbian fan, Marko Ivkovic, 25, was stabbed to death in Istanbul when an argument between rival fans turned violent in 2014.
TOFAS and Turk Telekom from Turkey are also participating in the 7DAYS EuroCup this year.
