ISTANBUL (AA) – Serena Williams on Thursday defeated Canada's Eugenie Bouchard in two straight sets to reach the third round at the Australian Open.
The 16th-seeded American had a 6-2, 6-2 victory over the 2014 Wimbledon finalist Bouchard in the second round.
Venus Williams has also made it to the third round and will face number one seeded Simona Halep.
