Assad regime attack kills 2 civilians in Syria’s Idlib

By Esref Musa and Burak Karacaoglu</p> <p>IDLIB, Syria (AA) – The Bashar al-Assad regime forces on Thursday struck civilian settlements in Idlib de-escalation zone of Syria, killing two people and wounding seven others.</p> <p>The White Helmets civil defense agency told Anadolu Agency that the regime forces and Iranian-backed terror groups targeted Lahaya village with mortar shots, artilleries and rockets.</p> <p>In September last year, Turkey and Russia hammered Sochi agreement to strengthen the ceasefire in Idlib de-escalation zone and Russia was committed to preventing Assad regime's aggression as a guarantor.</p> <p>In line with the agreement, the military opposition withdrew heavy weaponry from the region; however, the Assad regime continues its intense attacks in violation of the Sochi agreement.</p> <p> </p> <p>* Writing by Ali Murat Alhas
