Areas in NW Turkey registered as natural sites

By Cihan Demirci

EDIRNE, Turkey (AA) – Areas reflecting the natural beauties of Turkey's northwestern Edirne province were declared as natural sites by the Environment and Urbanization Ministry on Tuesday.

The provincial directorate of the ministry previously carried out scientific work on the regions with rare geological structures and natural beauties.

After conducting research throughout all seasons, the teams prepared a report which was later discussed by the Edirne Regional Commission for the Preservation of Natural Heritages.

The ministry then registered certain areas under the category of Natural Site-Sustainable Protection and Controlled Use Area, and others under the Natural Site-Qualified Use Area.

Coordinate and parcel information of the areas can be accessed online at tvksays.csb.gov.tr.
