Arabs thank Turkey with Guinness record attempt

ISTANBUL (AA) – Arab groups in Turkey have attempt a new Guinness Book record by trying to form a human chain to form the word “Thanks” in Turkish on Sunday.

Some 7,000 people from various Arab countries gathered in Istanbul, at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, to spell out “Tesekkurler” (Thanks).

Friday in Istanbul to launch the Thanks Turkey campaign launched a three-day festival in Istanbul on Friday, which included art exhibitions, music recitals and academic conferences.

Khaled Mashal, the leader of Palestine’s Hamas, praised Turkey.

“While huge countries did not accept refugees, Turkey accepts and hosts them,” he said on Saturday.
