Anadolu Agency’s coup bid exhibition shown in Tehran

TEHRAN (AA) – Anadolu Agency photographs and footage taken during Turkey’s defeated July 15 coup plot were exhibited at the 22nd Press and News Agencies Exhibition in Tehran on Sunday.

Speaking at the press conference at the Grand Mosalla mosque, Anadolu Agency’s Tehran office representative Mustafa Melih Ahishali said the coup plotters had taken everything into account, except the support of the Turkish people.

“During the coup night, some of our citizens who had rushed to the streets first performed their ablution, prayed at home and then said goodbye to their families and resisted against tanks without any weapons in their hands,” Ahishali said.

“The [Turkish] people stopped the coup with their belief.”

Criticizing the Western and regional media outlets targeting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan instead of the coup plotters, Ahishali said after the events of July 15 “the unity and solidarity in Turkey have grown stronger.”
