Anadolu Agency releases 2018 Almanac

By Baris Gundogan </p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – Anadolu Agency has released its trilingual Almanac on the most significant events of 2018.</p> <p>Covering key people and events with facts, statistics and data, the 2018 Almanac in Turkish, English, and Arabic languages is now on sale in bookstores and online.</p> <p>It chronologically highlights memorable events of 2018 in Turkey and worldwide, from politics and arts, to economy, sports, science and health, with striking images captured by Anadolu Agency photojournalists.</p> <p>Among national events are the Turkey’s Operation Olive Branch in northwestern Syria, fight against the Fetullah Terrorist Organization, presidential election paving the way for new government system, and the partial opening of the new Istanbul Airport.</p> <p>Trilateral Syria summit between Turkey, Russia and Iran, Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant and TurkStream projects between Russia and Turkey, the opening of the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project and the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi are also covered in the 2018 Almanac.<br></p> <p>Meanwhile, the relocation of U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, U.S. President Donald Trump-North Korean leader Kim Jong-un summit, Facebook data leakage, Cuba's first non-Castro president in 60 years, Brexit, Palestine resistance, California wildfire, and the Yellow Vest protests in France are the international highlights of yearbook.
