Education suspended in Sudanese capital ‘indefinitely’

KHARTOUM (AA) – The Sudanese authorities have announced the “indefinite” suspension of all educational activity in capital Khartoum, state-run television reported on Friday.</p> <p>“The Education Ministry has decided to indefinitely suspend classes at all public, private and foreign schools in Khartoum — including kindergartens — starting on Sunday,” state television reported.</p> <p>The decision comes amid violent demonstrations in several parts of the country against deteriorating economic conditions.</p> <p>On Thursday, protesters torched several government buildings during demonstrations organized by university students.
