MARDIN/SIRNAK, Turkey (AA) – Seven PKK terrorists have surrendered in southeastern Turkey, the governor's office in Mardin province said on Tuesday.

Four out of the seven PKK terrorists surrendered to security forces in Mardin's Nusaybin district, the office said in a statement.

Also, seven other suspects were arrested for their alleged links to the PKK terror group in Mardin as well.

Separately, three female terrorists surrendered to security forces in southeastern Sirnak, security sources said.

Nearly 150 terrorists have so far surrendered to security forces since start of 2018.

The PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.

Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
