By Emre Aytekin</p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck the Philippines, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Monday.</p> <p>The epicenter of the earthquake was the Gutad city, about 100 kilometers (around 62 miles) north of the capital city of Manila, the USGS scientific agency said. </p> <p>The earthquake that occurred at a shallow depth of 40 kilometers (some 25 miles) caused panic in Manila, while some hotels and shopping centers have been evacuated.</p> <p>No casualties have been reported yet. </p> <p>Founded in 1879, the USGS is one of the largest water, earth, and biological science and civilian mapping agencies in the U.S.</p> <p>* Writing by Jeyhun Aliyev
