IZMIR (AA) – A total of five PKK/KCK terror suspects were arrested in Turkey’s western Izmir province on Wednesday.

Izmir prosecutors issued arrest warrants for the suspects accused of participating in terror group’s activities and making propaganda on social media.

The suspects, one of whom is of Syrian origin, were arrested following simultaneous operations conducted in the province.

They were then referred to police headquarters for interrogation.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the European Union — has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
