4 PKK terrorists ‘neutralized’ in SE Turkey, N. Iraq

ANKARA (AA) – A total of 4 PKK terrorists were “neutralized” during anti-terror operations in southeastern Turkey and northern Iraq, the Turkish military said on Friday.

Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized ” in their statements to imply the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.

In a post on its official Twitter account, the Turkish General Staff said that the operations were conducted on July 26 against PKK terrorists in rural areas of Hakkari in Turkey's southeast and northern Iraq's Kani Rash region.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
