3 killed in blast in western Jordan: Security source

<p>By Laith Joneidi</p> <p><br></p> <p>AMMAN (AA) – Three people were killed and nine others injured on Thursday by an explosion that occurred in the town of Salt west of Jordanian capital Amman, according to a local security source.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The source, who spoke to Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to talk to media, said the blast had been caused by an &quot;explosive device&quot;. </p> <p><br></p> <p>The source did not elaborate further, but some local media outlets attributed the three deaths to the detonation of a World War II-era landmine.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The Jordanian authorities, for their part, have yet to comment on the reports.</p>
