SANLIURFA, Turkey (AA) – Two YPG-PYD/PKK terrorists operating in Syria surrendered to security forces in Turkey’s southeastern Sanliurfa province, the security directorate said on Thursday.

According to a statement, the terrorists surrendered in Akcakale district by crossing the Turkey-Syria border.

One of the terrorists had been working for the terror group for six years, while the other for three years, it added.

The terrorists told security forces that they wanted to flee but the group’s senior figures did not let them, the statement added.

In its 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK has taken some 40,000 lives. The YPG/PYD is its Syrian branch.
