ANKARA (AA) – The army “neutralized ” two PKK terrorists in response to harassment fire on a checkpost under construction in southeastern Turkey on Saturday, the provincial governor's office said in a statement.

Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized ” in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.

The terrorists, including a woman were neutralized in the Semdinli district of the southeastern Hakkari province after the terrorists fired three rockets on the post construction, the statement said.

No casualties were reported in the attacks into the military post, the statement added.

Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, the PKK has waged a wide-ranging terror campaign against the Turkish state since the mid-1980s, in which an estimated 40,000 people have been killed.
