Tunisia's prime minister contracts COVID-19

TUNIS, Tunisia (AA) – Tunisian Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi has tested positive for COVID-19 and will continue to work remotely, the premier's office said on Friday.

The office said in a statement that all of Mechichi's meetings had been suspended and his staff tested for the virus.

According to the latest figures by the country's Health Ministry, a total of 14,406 people have lost their lives to the disease.​​​​​​​

The number of cases stands at 395,362, while some 342,598 people have recovered.
