Swiss Allseas to build TurkStream’s 2nd offshore line

MOSCOW (AA) – Russian state giant natural gas company, Gazprom and Swiss-based Allseas Group inked a construction contract for the second line of the offshore section of the TurkStream natural gas pipeline project, Gazprom announced late Monday.

In accordance with the contract, Allseas will lay more than 900 kilometers of pipeline on the Blacksea between Russia’s southeast to the northwest of Turkey.

The company agreed to lay the first line of the pipeline in the Black Sea with Gazprom on Dec. 8, 2016 when the company’s CEO Alexey Miller had said that offshore construction would start in the second half of 2017.

The two lines of the TurkStream natural gas pipeline project plan to become operational by the end of 2019.
