N. Korea says will not use nuclear arms against South

ANKARA (AA) – North Korea on Tuesday promised not to use nuclear weapons against South Korea, according to Yonhap News Agency based in Seoul.

Chung Eui-yong, the head of President Moon Jae-in's National Security Office, was quoted Tuesday as saying: “The North promised not to use not only nuclear weapons but also conventional weapons against the South. ”

According to Yonhap, Eui-yong also said North Korea would halt nuclear tests and ballistic missile launches “as long as the U.S.-North Korea talks are in progress”.

South and North Koreas also agreed to hold a leaders' summit in April, the news agency said.

Moon and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is to be held in the joint security area of Panmunjeom.
