US, Turkish generals discuss Syria, Daesh in call

By Umar Farooq</p> <p><p>WASHINGTON (AA) – The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Joseph Dunford, had a telephone call Thursday with his Turkish counterpart, Gen. Yasar Guler.</p> <p><p>&quot;The two leaders continued their discussion on the security situation in Syria and the importance of continued U.S.-Turkish cooperation on counterterrorism efforts to ensure the lasting defeat of ISIS,&quot; Pentagon spokesman Col. Patrick S. Ryder said in a statement, using another name for the Daesh terrorist group.</p> <p>&quot;Gen.
